Olympic Peninsula Engagement Photos - Jesse & Lori
warm summer sun and cold ocean water
When Jesse and Lori reached out for their engagement session they wanted to go all out and have an adventure. Jesse and Lori are both transplants to Washington so they are always looking for a new adventure and to see something new so they can explore their new home further. When I found out that they had never been to the Olympic Peninsula I knew that they would absolutely be in awe of its beauty. There is truly nothing like Ruby Beach and it never disappoints. We hopped in my car and made the 3+ hour drive to the remote Ruby Beach. On the drive, we would get little glimpses of the ocean and the beautiful beaches. Each break in the trees made me more and more excited to see Jesse and Lori’s reactions to our final destination as I knew it would be something they have truly never seen before. There are so many beautiful places in the United States but there is a reason why people travel from all over the world to experience the Washington coastline. It’s absolutely spectacular.
Once we arrived and started down the path I could tell Lori and Jesse were completely captivated by the beach’s beauty. Ruby beach has a dramatic contrast where the thick evergreen forest meets the ocean. The ocean waves roll in for miles and the beach stretches into the mist for as far as the eye can see. The sea stacks jet out of the ocean and give us a glimpse of the beach’s long history.
Once we made it down to the beach we paused to enjoy some snacks and just be present at the moment. Once we started our session we had so much fun running up and down the beach in the summer sun and splashing in the cold ocean water. Everything about this session was perfect and it is one of the most fun sessions I’ve ever had to this day. Once the sun set and we all started to get cold we hopped back in the car and listened to music as we drove back down the coast. Such a perfect day <3
