C&D - Oregon Coast Elopement
What if I told you that love can be captured in a single moment? What if I told you that a photograph has the power to transport you back in time, to a moment that is filled with emotion, laughter, and pure joy? These are the kind of moments that I live for as a photographer - the ones that are authentic, intimate, and overflowing with love.
I recently had the privilege of photographing Caylea and Derek's vintage inspired Oregon coast elopement, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of magical. Caylea and Derek may have been shy in front of the camera, but the love that they shared was evident in every glance, every touch, and every smile. They were so sweet and kind to each other, and it was an honor to witness their special day.
From their vintage Airbnb to their choice of wedding cake, every detail of their elopement was thoughtful and intentional. Caylea's decision to have her dad walk her to her first look with Derek was a beautiful way to include him in such an important moment. It was a gesture that spoke volumes about the love that she has for her father.
The ceremony itself, set against the backdrop of the Oregon coast, was a moment of pure magic. The soft morning light filtering through the trees, the sound of the waves crashing in the distance, the love and warmth shared between two people - it was a scene straight out of a movie.
After the vows were exchanged, Caylea and Derek celebrated with their closest friends and family in the common area of their Airbnb. Laughter filled the air, champagne flowed freely, and love was the only thing that mattered. It was a destination elopement that was as intimate and non-traditional as the couple themselves.
In a world where everything moves at lightning speed, where authenticity is often overlooked in favor of perfection, Caylea and Derek's elopement was a breath of fresh air. It was a reminder that love is simple, love is kind, and love is the most beautiful thing we can ever hope to capture. And as a photographer who specializes in film photography, capturing those moments of genuine connection is what I live for.
The light was more than just beautiful, it was sublime.
